October 22nd Press Conference
DV Awareness Month - Keep Jennifers' Law Alive

CPM held a press conference on October 22nd to raise awareness of how “Jennifers' Law," named in honor of Jennifer Dulos, can impact Connecticut Custody Reform Legislation to keep Domestic Violence (DV) victims and children safe from harm during family court proceedings. This legislation would begin to make significant improvements to the way family courts currently handle custody decision-making when abuse is alleged so that DV victims and children are protected. Amending state laws to include coercive control language for emergency protection orders (and other family court matters) is a crucial part of the overall family court reform strategy which is advancing in states everywhere.
